New Beginnings

Its been 2 weeks and 2 days since a certain person and I parted ways. Here are some thoughts of the day. When you are in a relationship, you naturally rely on the other person to some extent, right? They are your favorite person and your best friend. When you go through a devastating breakup, you realize that you NEVER really could count on them, could you? The rug is pulled out from under you and they never want to see nor talk to you again. Okay. So who can you rely on? Your wonderful friends, that is true. They would do anything for you. But, really, there is one person you CAN rely on.

YOURSELF. I believe its true that if you want others to love you, you need to love yourself first and foremost. After a breakup is a good time to evaluate your life and get to know yourself. Interesting that this is the month of Elul in the Jewish calender. It's the time of year that, if you are a Jew, you are to evaluate the last year. We are to make amends and ask for forgiveness for what we have done wrong. Right after the month of Elul, comes the high holy days, Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. In the Jewish calender, its a new year--and a fresh start. These are deeply solemn days and I'm looking forward to observing them for the first time this year. I'm starting fresh on my own and will be working to ENRICH myself.

Autumn will be arriving very soon. Autumn is my favorite time of the year.

Why I Love Autumn

1. Apple Picking and baking fresh apple goods
2. Pumpkin picking and carving jack-o-lanterns
3. Jumping into a pile of freshly raked leaves!
4. Starbucks' Caramel Apple Cider on a brisk day!
5. My birthday (October 4)
6. Halloween
7. The feel of brand new school clothes on a chilly day
8. Zipping up my Knee High Boots after unpacking them from their storage spot.
9. The first snowflakes melting on my tongue (possibly at the near end of Autumn)
10. Days off from school for Holidays and Teachers Convention!

Marisa,

You're always up for trying something new. Glad to see it's going to high holiday services. I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself, as the Reform Jews always have fun and musical services. Regardless of what the other Jews say, Reform services are alot of fun!!!
